Molecular characterization of Iranian dromedaries using microsatellite markers

چکیده

Considering the importance of maintaining genetic diversity in native animals, this study conducted to analyse dromedary populations north Kerman province, Iran, using eight autosomal microsatellite markers. Eighty-one blood samples were collected from five different and DNA was extracted. The highest lowest allele number effective alleles shown YWLL08 (21 4) VOLP32 (14.97 3.11), respectively. expected heterozygosity varied 0.778 Sahra-e Jahad population 0.847 Nogh population. test for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium showed significant deviations most loci. mean multilocus FST value (0.057) suggested that differentiation is moderate between populations. From total diversity, only 6% due among populations, while remaining 94% corresponded differences individuals within each results current indicated Camelus dromedarius province have a relativity high variation data could be useful designing breeding strategies conservation. degree variability demonstrated implies studied are rich reservoirs must preserved. A future direction our can studying all Iranian better evaluate level inbreeding establish appropriate conservation aimed avoid losses diversity.

Molecular Characterization of Zhumeria majdea Iranian Germplasms Using ISSR Markers

Investigating genetic diversity in plant species provides a platform for further insight in plant breeding and conservation. Therefore, in the present study genetic diversity of 13 geographically isolated genotypes of Zhumeria majdea, as a seriously endangered medicine plant growing exclusively in Hormozgan province (South of Iran) was studied. To do so, the leaf samples of Z. majdea were colle...

Use of microsatellite markers for molecular characterization of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) ecotypes

In this study, Simple Sequence Repeat markers (SSR) were used to investigate the genetic variation between 49 cumin ecotypes collected from 9 different provinces of Iran. SSR primers Elap1479, Elap040 and Elap1493 showed the highest (89%), while Elap1340 and Elap017 showed the lowest (56%) number of polymorphic bands. Polymorphism information content (PIC) values varied between 0.18 - 0.37. The...

Genetic Characterization of Hamra Goat Population in Two Different Locations of Morocco Using Microsatellite Markers

In this study, genetic diversity of two different populations of Hamra goat breed of Morocco was investigated in 60 different samples (including 30 from Beni Arouss and 30 from Rommani) using fifteen microsatellite markers. A total of 145 alleles were detected with average number per locus of 8.67 and 8.07 in Beni Arouss and Rommani goats, respectively. The Shannon’s information index ranged fr...

Population structure of Rutilus frisii kutum in Iranian Coastline of the Caspian Sea using microsatellite markers

Kutum is considered as one of the anadramous species of the Caspian Sea. Due to continuous population decline of the fish since 1975, Iranian fisheries organization started to restock this species. Nowadays, there is growing concern over the effects of restocking on natural populations. For this purpose, population structure and genetic variation of this species in the Iranian coastline of Casp...
